The Friends and a spot of nail painting
A few weeks Money Supermarket contacted me and asked if I wanted to take part in their Charcoal Challenge where bloggers create a BBQ for friends and family for under £50. Of course I took on the challenge and invited 8 of my friends over plus some family!
I made a Tesco order the day before and planned what I would do as prep. Unsuprisingly the biggest cost by far came from the meat but to help lower that cost my biggest tips are: look at the price per kg and make use of deals going on. Overall I think it came to about £45.
For the preparation before everyone arrived I cut the strawberries, fried the onion, made the salad and marinaded the chicken in lemon, garlic and oregano. This made it far easier once everyone arrived as I spent only about 30 minutes doing the food.
On the Menu...
Coca Cola, Sprite and Fanta
New potatoes with mint
Garlic and Lemon Chicken
Pork and Apple Sausages with fried onions
Icecream with Chocolate and Strawberry sauce
Overall I had a great evening and it worked out pretty cost effective as it cost £3.75 a head but we had lots of leftovers too!
